About
Dr. Ammr Al-Houssan is a direct entry medicine graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. This enabled him to study medicine at a young and enthusiastic age while also broadening his global reach. In 2019, he received his Honours MB BCh BAO degree. He is a future general surgeon who is dedicated to improving healthcare for future generations.
Ammr Al-Houssan wants to finish his surgical residency training at the University of Connecticut, then seek fellowship training and open his own clinic to help his patients.
In the National Capital Region of Canada, Al-Houssan grew up. He got his Ontario Secondary School Diploma from Earl of March Secondary School in Kanata, an Ottawa suburb, in 2013. He was a hardworking student with a great interest in science. Rather than attending a North American institution for a pre-medical baccalaureate degree, Al-Houssan was accepted into RCSI's direct entrance medical school in Dublin, Ireland.
Al-Houssan excelled in his academics while a student at RCSI. He held a variety of management positions. In his final three years, he was a Class Representative. He served on the Emergency Society's committee for two years, as well as the Surgical Society's Surgical Skills Tutor, where he taught students suturing and laparoscopic skills.
